Proudly serving New York, New Jersey and Connecticut since 2009, Durante Rentals LLC is a well-established leader in the construction equipment rental industry. Since its founding by CEO Anthony Durante, Durante Rentals has made a name for itself as the go-to, trustworthy partner for small and mid-size contractors throughout the region. Now, thanks to an expanded leadership team, new equipment investments, and a recent partnership with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 15C, Durante Rentals is positioned to widen its reach to include larger contractors and union jobs performing more complex projects.
The Durante Name Means Business
In keeping with the family legacy, Steve Durante (Anthony’s brother) recently joined the team as the Chief of Sales, bringing with him decades of experience in the industry. He and Anthony share a common philosophy of providing a superior level of customer service, one that decidedly gives the award- winning Durante Rentals an edge.
The Lines Are Open
Anthony says, “We’ve positioned ourselves in a way in which we are large enough within the New York metro area to serve larger contractors, while at the same time being small enough that you can pick up the phone and talk to Steve or me.” He adds, “That accessibility of our senior management is a key differentiator. With some of the competitors in this space, a customer may have a hard time getting past a regional sales manager, let alone have the ability to speak with a senior leader. That’s not true here. Not to mention, we now have a dedicated outside sales team and a tremendous presence on job sites.”
Steve agrees, explaining that the company is taking on more and more work with larger civil construction (e.g., road work, tunneling, bridge and infrastructure) and with heavy construction contractors, including high-rise buildings and municipal construction, adding, “A key component is having an outside sales team that can be out there in the trenches, engaging with those customers and providing strategic equipment solutions to job site applications.”
Expanding on that consultative approach, Steve notes that with the deep wealth of industry experience at Durante, combined with its hands-on philosophy, he and his team don’t set up any roadblocks between customer and company leadership. “Many sales reps in this industry, oftentimes, are the go-between. They meet with a customer who tells them what they need. They go back to their boss, set a rate and deliver a product. Here at Durante, we train our team, not only in equipment specifications, but also in construction materials and methods.”
He continues, “If our customers know what they need, by all means, we would never overstep that. However, having a deeper knowledge of the work being performed enables our reps to establish a true partnership with our customers to be sure the correct decision is made prior to dispatching. That same level of professionalism can be counted on for every service call or any other transaction between Durante Rentals and our customers.”
A Growing Fleet, Growing Services
To better serve growing customer needs, Durante Rentals has acquired larger (and more) equipment than at any time in its history. Anthony adds that they are also seeing “a renaissance in equipment manufacturing. Standards are getting stricter state by state in terms of environmental emissions. With new equipment being rolled out, we’re able to consult with our customers to point them in the right direction. When we spec out a job site, our responsibility as a rental consultant is to bring these new ideas to the field to show them that, yes, there is a better way to build the job via rental equipment.”
As to its future, Michael Tracy, Senior Director of Marketing, says Durante Rentals has a clear vision toward providing even better service to its customers. “We just launched our new customer experience program called PRO ONE: PRO standing for ‘Premium Rental Offering’ and ONE reflecting Durante Rentals’ ‘one rep, one call’ charge.” Michael adds, “The program offers additional services and benefits to key customers, including an annual rebate of up to 10%.”
The goal, as it has always been, is for Durante Rentals to continue to be “the most dependable name in construction equipment rentals.”
