Keeping New York Clean
CleanTech, providing specialty interior cleaning services to the New York metropolitan community for 47 years

CleanTech offers the toughest cleaning regimens for aircraft hangars and ramps to ensure aircraft safety.

The old saying that it’s what’s on the inside that counts has never been more true than for the professionals at CleanTech CTE, Inc. Since 1973, CleanTech has been providing interior maintenance and design services to the New York metro area. Initially established as a subsidiary of a major American airline, CleanTech’s charter was to provide specialized maintenance services utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and technology based on newly developed extraction equipment for carpeting, upholstery and fabrics. Shortly after its founding, CleanTech branched out and became an independent company.
Today, under the leadership of its Owner and Founder, Robert Kleber, CleanTech has offices in Manhattan, Westchester and Long Island, and is a full, one-stop specialty cleaning firm offering programmed maintenance, janitorial maintenance, design service, major construction clean-up and environmental services for a wide range of commercial clients throughout New York City, the Hudson Valley, Connecticut and New Jersey.
Serving the City that Never Sleeps
In New York, the re-building never stops. Clients need post-construction cleanup on-time and on-budget. From universities to public schools to new office buildings and hi-rise condos, the need is for detailed project cleaning. CleanTech maintains an open-shop, handling the union and non-union sites with equal commitment. To satisfy governmental building requirements, CleanTech works closely with experienced MWBE subcontractors. End of summer is always “push time” for college and city school opening deadlines: “CleanTech is there to work with you!” CleanTech is NYC SCA approved.
Growth, Leadership and Service
Kleber remarks that the company’s strength comes from its unique approach and capabilities enlisted for each facilities maintenance project. He says, “In addition to furnishing basic cleaning services, we respond to our customers’ needs for specialty services, design services and, sometimes most importantly, emergency services. We are service oriented.”
Kleber promises that every job will be expertly managed and supervised. Among its loyal clientele are general contractors, architects, designers, building managers, schools and universities, hospitals, airports, theaters, restaurants and government agencies.
He adds, “We’re a leader in the furnishing of maintenance and design services to the region, and our clients’ businesses are becoming more complex and demanding,” including high-tech cleaning of computer rooms, HVAC systems, clean room environments and “green” buildings. CleanTech has taken a “fresh-tech” approach by offering a technologically oriented and fully coordinated response.
A Friend in Need is a Friend Indeed
Response to facility emergencies and catastrophes has become an integral part of CleanTech service. Kleber remarks, “Our ability to handle job-site floods, fires, vandalism, mold, hurricanes and viral infections is of major importance to our customers.” Specialized 24/7 emergency service is provided throughout the Eastern Seaboard from New England to Florida. CleanTech was here for 9/11 World Trade Center, Hurricane Sandy, and SARS, MERS and COVID-19 outbreaks. Insurance restoration claims are expertly handled by CleanTech’s “Restoration Specialists” division.
CleanTech’s growth over the years has been both direct and indirect through the acquisition of established, professionally acclaimed service companies—Cleanbright Process, Crystal Restoration, Reliable Cleaning Systems, and Restoration Specialists, each specializing in its own unique services.
These include cleaning of carpeting, designer and Oriental rugs, upholstery, draperies and blinds; janitorial and project cleaning; window cleaning; FDNY firewatch; and experienced crews for Spring & Fall college dorm clean-outs.
Design Service for Maintenance Efficiency
The “design” in CleanTech Maintenance and Design Services includes: professional installation of carpeting and window treatments; marble and metal polishing; and ABIX rejuvenation of acoustical ceilings.
Staying Ahead of the Trends
Kleber ensures that his entire team keeps on top of the latest industry trends and advancements in order to provide the best and most comprehensive service. CleanTech’s crew chiefs, operations staff and project managers periodically attend service, maintenance, environmental and safety training seminars to maintain technical standards and licensing requirements. The team routinely confers with RIA and IICRC tech labs, along with Synthetic Labs chemical reagent specialists to stay ahead of industry standards. Environmental cleaning is performed to professional consultants’ specifications.
Additionally, to ensure consistent quality, CleanTech uses its own brand of products and installs its own carpeting. CleanTech’s CTE Chemicals are specially formulated products for carpeting and specialty requirements. Kleber says, “We have scientifically developed our own cleaning reagents to ensure environmental capability and the best cleaning results for our customers.”
A Clean Vision
Regardless of the specialty, as it nears the 50-year mark, CleanTech strives to meet every customer need with high-quality products and services that exceed the industry’s complex demands.
