Plumbing Service Is All Relative
For 2nd-generation J&S Contractor Services, LLC, quality, honesty and loyalty run in the family

Groundworks for the new CAVA restaurant in Richmond, Virginia.

In 2016, siblings Sandra and Jesus (Jesse) Garcia founded J&S Contractor Services, LLC, following in the family footsteps. “We had fun just being around that environment and helping our dad when we were just teenagers!” says Sandra as she recalls the experience she and her siblings have had in construction plumbing throughout the years, especially working as second- and third-tier subcontractors in the industry.
The Virginia-based company performs residential and commercial plumbing services for both new construction and renovation projects throughout the state and beyond. Sandra remarks, “Our business is to provide our clients with a professional and proficient plumbing experience and to surprise builders and homeowners with an exceeding amount of honesty and integrity. We strive to create and build relationships, offering great value by ensuring that our resources and supplies are of the highest quality. We are proud to employ highly trained experts who are motivated to find a better solution with a sense of urgency and a smile.”
All in the Family
J&S Contractor Services, which is a certified minority and small business enterprise, is run like one big happy family…and that’s because most of its team of 15, is indeed, family. Having grown up in a clan of 10 siblings, Sandra, Jesse and another four of their brothers and sisters now work together, along with their father, Jesus Sr., and two of his brothers. This makes for a close-knit team and a level of care you may not find with other plumbing contractors.
Sandra says, “We all care. Whether it’s our family members or others who have joined us, we take tremendous pride in our work, and we want to grow with that philosophy in mind. We want to teach every person who comes on board and for them to grow and learn, too. We utilize subcontractors that my father trained, himself, over his long career in plumbing. He’s very selective, so he’s not going to pull in someone he just met off the street. These subcontractors are people that he’s worked with over the past 20 years.”
Building a Business
J&S Contractor Services continues to build upon its reputation, securing projects through word-of-mouth as well as its association with The Blue Book Network®. The company also belongs to the Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
Working on everything from smaller residential projects to multimillion-dollar commercial facilities in Virginia and Maryland (by teaming up with other plumbing subcontractors in that state), the company is now setting its sights on expanding into Texas in the near future.
“We currently do a lot of work in Richmond,” says Sandra. High-profile projects include Discount Tires, Cheddar’s restaurants, Carter Bank & Trust, and KinderCare Centers. The main niche J&S Contractor Services is looking to fill in the coming months is the booming hotel market.
Services run the gamut, including sewer line replacements, drain cleaning, water heaters, plumbing inspections, all commercial plumbing repairs, and commercial water and sewer line installations/repairs, to name just a few. The company also offers 24/7 emergency services.
Plumbing Pride
Sandra concludes, “This trade is awesome; it’s in our blood. We really love what we do, and we will do it with quality, honesty and loyalty.”
