The Great Escape
Hartford Paving expands into the hardscape material supply sector under Outdoor Escapes of New England
For decades, Hartford Paving has established itself as the go-to resource for paving services throughout Rhode Island. The venerable company is now branching out and expanding into the landscape materials supply sector under the name Outdoor Escapes of New England while still maintaining the Hartford brand.
Paving the Way
Hartford Paving was established in 1974. Founder Anthony Corsinetti Sr. had worked for M.A. Gammino Construction for several years before he ventured into his own business, initially doing driveways and small parking areas.
Current co-owner, Anthony Corsinetti II, says, “We did not forget our roots, even though we started to accomplish other feats. Our ongoing relationship with National Grid has been growing strong since 1982. Now, we also do site work, concrete work, utility work and roadwork, and we provide many other construction services. Some of the contracts that we have had in the past include work done for the State of Rhode Island, many municipalities as well as utility companies. General contractors consider us one of their preferred paving companies.”
A New Venture
In 2002, after the passing of their father, Anthony II and his brother, Chris, were driven to make their company a standard in Rhode Island. Anthony explains, “We are very proud of our company’s record and accomplishments, and are very excited at what the future holds. Because of our pride in detail and workmanship, we decided to start a new venture. Our father always thought of opening a materials yard at our location, and in 2003 Hartford Materials was born. And now, in 2018, we decided to rebrand our materials yard into Outdoor Escapes of New England to better represent our vision.”
Outdoor Escapes of New England is a one-stop shop for all contractors and homeowners, offering a complete line of landscaping and masonry materials, as well as the tools and equipment needed to get the job done. The company’s catalogue of products includes blue mist, brownstone, bluestone flagging and treads, natural wall stone and thin veneers, manufactured stone, pavers and segmental retaining walls, mulch and much more—representing Techo-Bloc, Nicolock, Belgard and Cultured Stone.
Client Service is Top Priority
Carlos Sousa, project management, estimation and sales for both sides of the organization, shares the company’s long and impressive client list, which includes a number of small to medium box store developments, such as O’Reilly Auto Parts, Dollar General and Family Dollar. “We also do rehabs for various fast food establishments,” he says.
Regardless of the task at hand, serving their clients has been—and remains—the top priority. Carlos says, “For us, with both Hartford Paving and Outdoor Escapes, our customer service is our biggest concern. We want to make sure we provide our clientele with the best service that we can.”
